VENTMASTER
ROBRADY leveraged its industrial design expertise to help Parker Hannifin translate its successful, established branding guidelines from 2D into 3D.
Parker Hannifin, a $12 billion global leader in motion and control technology and products, needed a new look for their Vent Master—an integrated, environmentally-compliant mechanical alternative to sample-stream discharging in oil refineries. This new aesthetic not only had to address branding, assembly and cost-constraint issues, but also set the stage for the branding of future products.
In conjunction with Parker's corporate communications group, ROBRADY’s industrial design team appointed the Vent Master with a distinctive and appealing aesthetic that would establish the collective image of all Parker products, which cater to commercial, mobile, industrial, and aerospace markets.
The Vent Master’s revamped packaging—which comprises regulators, gauges, a rotometer and an educator—features a more attractive aesthetic while reducing supplier-based costs: the two-piece housing is faster and more efficient to assemble and service.
Parker’s Vent Master, previously nicknamed “the big blue ugly,” was transformed by an attractive, progressive design. And, thanks in large part to ROBRADY’s assistance in vendor selection, identification sketches, and First Article Inspections (FAIs), the Vent Master became more cost-effective to produce. As a result of the studio’s performance in translating the company’s 2D branding to their 3D products, Parker has since partnered with ROBRADY on over 50 other projects.
